Clients often ask us to help increase forecast accuracy. The idea is seductive. If only our forecasts were more accurate, we could achieve better delivery performance and lower our costs. However, in an increasingly competitive environment of a rapidly growing market, forecast accuracies will only decrease. The answer is not a better crystal ball, but a better system of responsiveness. Supply chain planning is the glue that holds the different parts together.
